Facebook Enables Pop-up Warnings Before Sharing Outdated Story

With mounting pressure to address the spread of misinformation on its platform, Facebook globally rolled out a content warning notifications system for content that is more than 90 days old. Posters will prompted to “go back” or to click through:

Similarly to Instagram’s filter for abusive/offensive content notification, Facebook is considering additional types of warnings for instances like COVID-19 in the coming months.
