Discord looks to beyond gaming and is positioning itself as the Slack for users’ social lives. Fresh off the round of funding, Discord has been optimizing and adding features to support the growing needs of its communities.

  • Platforms boasts 100M active users. with 4B minutes of conversation on 6.7M active servers.

  • New UX and features like server video.

  • Increased its voice and video capacity by 200%.

  • Addresses past hate groups with intro of its Safety Center that defines the company’s rules and regulations and what actions users can take to monitor and manage their use of service for hate speech and abuse.

Much of the funds will be used to help accelerate investment in the community, new features, and the company itself. As the platform looks to expand out its features sets and applications to other types of communities, there has been no updates around the company’s plans for direct path monetization.
